Since June 2020 we have been measuring Basemarkians’ work engagement (orange line) through an anonymous survey. We are quite happy with the results! The latest result reveals that 86% of Basemarkians feel either very engaged or somewhat engaged in their work.
In December, the response rate (yellow line) took a dip, most likely due to the approaching holiday break. One could argue that only happy people bothered to answer, since engagement increased at the same time, but now the response rate has recovered and the engagement rate is still climbing up!
People appreciate the fact that we are recruiting only individuals who match our values, our strategy is clearer and we have brought more structure and planning to the way we are working. Basemark is growing up from teenager to young adult, soon we’ll have our own car (literally) and won’t need to borrow Daddy’s car to take it for a secret spin!
We define the profile of an Engaged Employee as follows:
– They do their best
– They feel stretched beyond their comfort zone in a good way
– They take personal satisfaction in their quality of work
We do admit that sometimes we find work stressful, but at the same time, it is rewarding and fun. Engaged employees lose their sense of time when working. Therefore it is good that we have a flex hour system. 😊
It is intriguing to see what happens to the engagement rate next month… our new CEO, Tero Sarkkinen, has taken the helm. Stay tuned.
