Helsinki, Finland | September 8, 2026 – Basemark, a European dual use technology company providing mission-critical software for real-time situational awareness, data fusion and advanced visualization at the tactical edge, today announced the appointment of Douglas Allen as a strategic advisor. The appointment strengthens Basemark’s position in the defense sector as the company continues to expand its engagement with defense organizations internationally.
Mr. Allen brings a background that combines military service, entrepreneurship, and investment. Following two decades as a British Army officer, he’s spent over 10 years advancing agritech solutions focused on sustainable food production. He also co-founded Trinity Partners, a multinational network established to strengthen European defense deterrence. Working at the intersection of innovation, resilience, and long-term value creation, his particular interest is dual use technology and sovereign supply-chain resilience. He is building a portfolio of advisory positions to translate strategic intent into operational capability by connecting emerging technologies, talent, industrial capacity and private investment.
His experience has included multiple board appointments, capital-raising and leadership of multidisciplinary teams. Allen holds a master’s degree in Military Studies from Cranfield University. He has completed executive programs at the universities of St Andrews and Cambridge Judge Business School.

In his advisory capacity, he will contribute to Basemark’s defense-sector strategy, drawing on his experience in supply-chain capacity and resilience to support the company’s approach to defense procurement and partnerships, alongside guidance on capital-raising as Basemark grows its presence in the sector.
