Rocksolid Studio 26.2: Introduces Finite State Machine, Object Outlines, CLI Project Explorer, and Reroute Nodes

Rocksolid 1200x675

Rocksolid Studio 26.2 is now available! The headline addition is finite state machines, a new way to organize complex logic alongside nodegraphs, joined by a handful of other updates that make projects easier to build, read, and maintain.

Finite State Machines Bring Order to Complex Nodegraphs

Rocksolid Studio 26.2 introduces finite state machines (FSM), a new way to organize logic alongside nodegraphs. Instead of wiring every behavior through one sprawling nodegraph, teams can now define a set of clear states, such as standby, active, or alert, along with the exact rules for switching between them.

With FSM, development gets faster, since teams spend less time untangling logic and more time building. It is also easier to maintain, users can easily see how the system behaves without digging through the nodegraph. And because each state and transition can be tested on its own, tracking down bugs and verifying behavior gets easier too.

Object Outlines: Show State At a Glance

Object Outlines

The 26.2 release also adds object outlines, a way to highlight objects so users can instantly tell what is active, selected, or flagged. You can set up rules so that a detected object or a selected item on screen gets a colored outline the moment it needs attention, without writing custom code to make it happen. The same highlighting also shows up inside the design tool itself, making it easier for users to see what they are working on, even in busy, detailed scenes.

CLI Project Exporter: Automation-ready Builds

Project export now comes as a command-line tool, so users can generate a build without opening the editor at all. For teams using automated pipelines, a project can now be exported as part of a routine, scheduled process, rather than requiring someone to open Studio and export by hand.

Reroute Nodes: Keeping Large Projects Organized

Reroute Nodes

Reroute nodes are a smaller addition in this release, helping teams keep large projects visually organized as they grow. In complex, real-time interfaces, the underlying logic can end up looking like a tangle of connections on screen, making it hard to follow. Reroute nodes let developers guide those connections along a clean, clear path, so even the most complex projects stay easy to read and maintain over time.

These highlights are just part of what’s in Rocksolid Studio 26.2. The 26.2 release also brings faster project loading, smoother 3D asset imports, and a number of refinements across the editor, all aimed at making everyday work in Studio quicker and more reliable.
