Have you used Eclipse on the Android studio? Have you created the code that has communicated with Android and the activity life cycle? In other words, do you actually have Android API experience, to get something like location or sensor data? We are looking for C++ developers who have done Android applications and some AR stuff, OR, maybe you are a C++ dev grad who has done plenty of background projects on Android?
BASEMARK: AR, automotive & compute/graphics software product company based in Helsinki, 100 employees worldwide, satellite offices in Germany and the US. We are world-class experts in real-time 3D graphics, GPU-compute programming and design.
Our mission is to support and accelerate the transition of automotive OEMs to the software defined vehicle reality. Our vision is to be the #1 provider of base layer SW for the automotive industry globally, to be in half of all cars produced by 2025.
We cover both compute and graphics, there is no middleware on the market that covers both. Both compute and graphics need to access the same processor and GPU underneath, and since we are able to cover both and schedule the work between both, this leads to performance superiority for our solution, compared to separate solutions.
We have lots of C++ devs handling our library and communication with the Android application, but we don’t have a lot of experts on the Android side, and Java interface, handling activity which is the app life cycle.
You will be a normal dev in our sprints, handling everything on the Android side, in fact you will be our Specialist! You’ll get the data from other applications, forward that to our C++ library, handling as needed, and then upkeep and update our activity life cycle, how the application responds to all outside signals.. When we get the new data or ask from the client that is showing our fragment, that communication will become the main focus, either handling out application lifecycle or forwarding the data to the C++ library. We have about 10 C++ devs, 3-4 actively working on our Android project, the rest are fully on the library side.
You will get to be part of creating new tech with real improvement in vehicle navigation. This is all about ‘VideoAR’, creating AR for navigation, and AR for the vehicle in general. There are coming new features, more and more data revolving around what the car is actually doing, autonomous things, AR things, etc..
- Android API development experience
- Java, Kotlin, C++ (you must know all 3)
Does this sound like you? Please send your CV and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject entitled ‘Android API Developer’ We look forward to meeting you!
