A Unique Safety Critical Automotive OS And E/E Architecture Covering All Vehicle Functions “from Pedal to Cluster”

Rocksolid Core

Yields Significant Development Time and Unit Cost Savings to OEMs

Rocksolid Core

Automotive Operating System Built from Trusted Building Blocks

Rocksolid Core is an automotive operating system, execution environment and platform that covers all vehicle functions, ranging in safety critical levels from ASIL-B to ASIL-D.

It is based on Autosar Classic, Autosar Adaptive and Linux, coupled with Basemark’s patent pending high performance compute and graphics libraries middleware software that speed up application development.

Unique Framework to Harness Maximum Performance of the Hardware

Basemark has developed a unique framework for harnessing the power of the underlying hardware. For example, the included vision stack and safe HMI utilize target platform’s accelerators, GPUs and CPUs in an optimal way. Basemark is known of being able to squeeze maximum performance from the hardware platforms. Applications developed on Rocksolid Core can also be deployed – or migrated - to various target hardware more easily.

OEMs Can Focus on Differentiation

By licensing Rocksolid Core, an OEM no longer needs to spend time and resources on development of a base platform. Instead, OEMs will be able to slash development time by a year or more, and can immediately focus scarce engineering resources to the actual features and applications that differentiate a vehicle from the competition.

Rocksolid Core comes with reference applications for ADAS, HMI, and a high performance vision stack that enables fast development of a whole range of vehicle functions.

Safety Certifiable Platform

The whole architecture has been designed from the scratch to be safety certifiable according to ASIL-B requirements in case of performance controller and ASIL-D requirements in case of safety controller.

Proof of Concept Vehicle

We are developing software for a proof-of-concept vehicle. The vehicle runs the Rocksolid Core stack on automotive grade hardware and incorporates several reference applications.

  • Lane detection
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Driver monitoring
  • Safe Instrument Cluster

All functions are run by the one and the same performance controller in cooperation with the safety controller, thereby reducing the need for multiple ECUs for different functions. Basemark has developed unique technology to manage and run multiple various applications on the same hardware.

Source Code Licensing Model

Basemark offers a unique source code license model for OEMs. This means that finally OEMs are able to maintain their codebase and modify and develop new applications as time goes on.
