Extending its lead in automotive Augmented Reality (AR) software, Basemark launched a full suite of developer tools and engines for cutting-edge AR experience development.
Developing next-generation AR automotive applications is one of the hottest areas in automotive software. By fusing AI, computer vision, ADAS and graphics, OEMs can offer functionality to customers that make vehicles safer to drive and safer for other road users. However, due to the multidisciplinary nature of AR and the lack of tools, the development is tedious, costly and slow.
With today’s launch of Rocksolid AR, Basemark sends a strong response to this need. Rocksolid AR is a suite of developer tools for computer vision and AI engineers as well as for UI and UX designers. These enable multidisciplinary teams to work together, creating never before seen AR experiences while increasing productivity.
Rocksolid AR features easy deployment to the most popular automotive SoCs and operating systems. This is possible by Rocksolid Core middleware that consists of automotive grade runtimes and system performance optimizing scheduler. Rocksolid Core middleware is being safety certified according to ISO 26262 by an independent certification authority.
Rocksolid AR includes:
- AR Applications: Set of ready-made AR reference applications, such as video AR instrument clusters.
- Rocksolid AR Studio: Developer-friendly graphics and compute application creation toolchain specifically built for designing automotive AR applications.
- Rocksolid Core Platform: Automotive grade middleware with fast compute and graphics engines for safe and fast processing of AR and ADAS applications. The platform also features a scheduler that optimizes heterogeneous workload processing for maximum system performance.
“Rocksolid AR is a natural product extension of our automotive software offerings. Rocksolid AR is a result of our expertise within a specific set of automotive functions that require extensive expertise in ADAS, AI, computer vision and graphics rendering. We have been working on AR solutions together with BMW for several years. We know what the challenges are and what is required to develop advanced AR applications since we have been doing it ourselves”, says Tero Sarkkinen, CEO and founder of Basemark.
Basemark will be showcasing Rocksolid AR during CES in Las Vegas from January 4th-8th, 2023. Click here if you want to schedule a meeting or a private demonstration at CES.
