Digital Cockpit Software Test Manager, Munich

(this position requires fluent German skills!)

Are you interested in having broad ownership of testing for potentially two different automotive OEM software platforms? You now have the opportunity to work at a low hierarchy software company (us) while working closely with OEMs, while at the same time giving you freedom to choose how the testing is automated, thereby giving you the mandate to create this from scratch! Basemark is an automotive software and hardware performance benchmarking company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with subsidiaries in Munich, Germany and Detroit, Michigan.

Basemark is hiring digital cockpit software test engineers for our automotive software engineering office in Milbertshofen, Munich. One of the key positions is a test manager capable of coordinating the testing activities and kicking off the software testing project. 

Language requirements

  • Professional verbal fluency in German (native fluency not expected)
  • Able to discuss HIL & SIL technical topics in German with the team to a useful degree

Your day-to-day tasks

  • Work together with functional safety engineers to analyze software and hardware risks to be controlled by testing activities
  • Lead the software project test management activities
  • Create and manage testing plans
  • Develop automated testing workflows for software components as part of the CI/CD process
  • Define and track testing-related metrics related to performance, quality and coverage
  • Define and carry out software tests on the target hardware
  • Set up and maintain target test devices, including flashing, debugging
  • Report on the progress of the testing activities to management and customers

You will have the opportunity to challenge SW developers by creating world-class tests which detect system failures. Being a part of the architectural change by the OEM allows you to be hands-on with the latest and greatest topics in the market. You will get to learn fast about the system under the test, with the capabilities and personal growth to gain incredibly valuable experience in new automotive cockpit tech.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience working with system-on-chip boards (e.g. Qualcomm, Samsung, Nvidia, NXP, Renesas) in the context of Linux, BSD, Android or QNX
  • Basic Linux system administration skills
  • HIL & SIL testing or performance benchmarking

Preferred qualifications

  • Automotive digital cockpit application experience
  • Experience working according to the V-model, ASPICE and ISO 26262
  • ISTQB certificate level “Test Manager”
  • Familiarity with QNX
