Helsinki, Finland | September 15, 2026 – Basemark has been accepted as a member of Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries – PIA, strengthening its position in Finland’s defense industrial community. Through its membership, Basemark aims to contribute its expertise in augmented reality, computer vision and real-time data fusion to the development of defense systems that improve operators’ situational awareness. 

PIA represents approximately 300 companies across Finland’s defense, aerospace, space and security industries. It works closely with the Finnish Ministry of Defence, the Finnish Defence Forces and other national security authorities to strengthen the industry’s capabilities, competitiveness and international cooperation. 

Basemark brings software capabilities that complement the vehicles, sensors, communications equipment and command systems developed by PIA’s member companies. Its Rocksolid® platform combines information from sensors, vehicles and command systems into a coherent, real-time view, helping operators understand their surroundings and access information relevant to their mission. 

Drawing on its experience in automotive series production, Basemark can help defense partners develop responsive visual applications within the computing constraints of vehicles and wearable equipment. Rocksolid combines computer vision, sensor fusion and real-time graphics with low computational overhead. Its portability across processors and operating systems helps partners adapt applications to different hardware platforms without rebuilding the core software for each deployment.

Basemark recently demonstrated a smart helmet for remote operations with Patria in a demonstration involving a Patria AMV armoured vehicle. The company also participates in NATO Innovation Continuum 2026. 

PIA membership provides further opportunities for Basemark to collaborate with established defense companies, engage with authorities and participate in international industry networks. It strengthens the company’s dual-use strategy, applying its core augmented reality, computer vision and real-time graphics technology across defense and its established automotive business, serving OEM customers such as Lucid Motors and BMW.
