TÜV Rheinland Announces Partnership with Basemark on Gaming Notebook Certifications Program – Powered by Basemark GPU 1.2

Shanghai, China and Helsinki, Finland, June 10th, 2020 –  the international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification organization, TÜV Rheinland, and Basemark, the global leader in performance benchmarking software, announced today a business partnership that brings Basemark GPU benchmarks to be part of a new TÜV Rheinland Certification program for gaming notebooks. The partnership is based on strong expertise of both companies.

Leading OEMs of consumer devices prove their products’ safety and quality through TÜV Rheinland’s testing and certification. Similarly, technology media, leading OEMs and semiconductor companies are using Basemark’s benchmark products for performance evaluation.

TÜV Rheinland is closely collaborating with Basemark and the world’s leading gaming notebook computer manufacturers to develop a new gaming performance certification program. To be launched in Q3 2020, the new testing and certification program will provide a transparent gaming performance score scheme for consumers. The score includes gaming display performance, gaming power evaluation and gaming design features.

With this partnership, consumer device manufacturers will gain a powerful service from TÜV Rheinland for gaming notebook performance testing and evaluation. Basemark GPU 1.2 is the world’s first cross platform performance testing suite providing an excellent tool to benchmark the overall performance of the devices. As a result, notebook OEMs can verify that their products are matching the end user expectations for gaming performance.
