Senior Embedded SW Engineer (Diagnostics)

Are you metaphorically turned on by using computer vision for automotive software? And if C++ and ECU diagnostics are your thing, you now get to work on this type of work in Helsinki. This place is awesome! Check this out:

BASEMARK: automotive & compute/graphics software product company based in Helsinki, 100 employees worldwide, satellite offices in US, Germany. We are world-class experts in real-time 3D graphics, GPU-compute programming and design.

Our mission is to support and accelerate the transition of automotive OEMs to the software defined vehicle reality.

Our vision is to be the #1 provider of base layer SW for the automotive industry globally, to be in half of all cars produced by 2035.

We cover both compute and graphics, there is no middleware on the market that covers both. Both compute and graphics need to access the same processor and GPU underneath, and since we are able to cover both and schedule the work between both, this leads to performance superiority for our solution, compared to separate solutions.

The Job:

This is a key role on our development team that we’re building in Helsinki. In this role you will take ownership of the ECU diagnostics functions in an automotive SW development project where computer vision plays a central role. After creating the diagnostic features, you will test them regularly to make sure that they stay functional after each iterative update of the ECU software. You will also develop a DFT (Design for Test) interface for the ECU according to given instructions by the OEM.

Additionally you will build a special on-board debugging feature for the test drivers. This feature helps the test drivers capture the video stream with a push of a button by saving a configurable number of camera frames automatically into the ECU memory. You will carry out the concept design, implementation, testing and documentation of this on-board diagnostic function. This data can be downloaded afterwards from the ECU memory and played back on PC in debugging purpose. This job may require travelling a few times to the customer’s campus in Germany.

  • Strong C++ experience with embedded SoC systems and ECU diagnostics (4-8 years)
  • Experience with QNX OS is a plus
  • Knowledge in Autosar Adaptive is a plus, but not necessary
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Does this sound like you? If you are ready to join the Finnish-led automotive revolution, please send your English CV and cover letter to with the subject entitled ‘Diagnostics’. We look forward to meeting you!
